We are different

What sets us apart

Creating Healthy, Happy Smiles at Pediatric Dentistry

We know that children’s first dental experiences set the tone for how they feel about dental care for the rest of their lives. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to provide exceptional dental care at every visit. With a gentle, compassionate manner, our doctors and staff look to build a trusting relationship with your child, a relationship that will be remembered long into adulthood.

Focus on Education

The foundation of a lifetime of ideal oral health starts at childhood. When children establish a good hygiene routine at a young age, those habits stick with them for the rest of their lives. That’s why we focus on providing education about healthy teeth and gums, home hygiene, and dental visits from a very young age. We use children’s natural curiosity to encourage questions and help them learn about dentistry and their health in a child-friendly way.

Emphasis on Prevention

We believe that the best kind of dental treatment is the one your child doesn’t need at all! By offering a range of preventive care, we’re able to stop issues before they begin, and correct small problems before they become big ones. When restorative treatments are needed, we take a minimally invasive approach and use only the best, clinically proven techniques.

A Positive Environment

Our New Britain pediatric dental office has been specially designed and decorated to be open and colorful, so that your child can be as relaxed and comfortable as possible during each dental visit. We’ve created an environment where you and your child can feel at home. From the warm smiles of our front office staff greeting you when you arrive, to our attentive clinical team, we’re here to see your child smile.

Our Service

Pediatric Dentistry awarded Oak Hill's Service Provider of the Year

Drs. Thal and Rostenberg take seriously their responsibility to serve the entire dental community. One way we demonstrate that commitment is by treating handicapped patients of all ages. In recognition of that commitment, Pediatric Dentistry was awarded Oak Hill’s Service Provider of the Year in November, 2009. Oak Hill, founded in 1893, “enhances independence and quality of life for people with disabilities, including visual impairments, by setting the standard in providing innovative solutions, program excellence, services, and advocacy.”

The doctors also volunteer their time and expertise in other ways:
Give Kids a Smile Day

An annual national event that provides free dental services for children who otherwise cannot afford dental care. On Feb. 5, 2010 we provided care for 24 children. For some this was their first dental experience.

Connecticut Mission of Mercy (CTMOM)

Two days of free dental care for people of all ages. In April, 2009, 1800 children and adults received care in New Haven. Dr. Thal has been in charge of recruiting and coordinating volunteers for the event for the past three years.

Drs. Thal and Rostenberg serve as consultants to numerous pre-schools and nursery schools, as well as New Britain Head Start.

Everyone in the office is very friendly and has been wonderful to deal with. Both my kids have not ever had any issues with anyone there (they have seen Dr Thal and Dr Rostenberg). Would recommend this practice to anyone.

My 5 year old daughter has had bad dental experiences up until finding Dr. Eddie.  I asked around and was referred to Dr Eddie and he truly is our miracle worker. My daughter had her filling done today without any types of sedation and as soon as we got in the car she told me he’s the best dentist ever and she’s not scared anymore. I never thought I would ever hear my daughter say that. We couldn’t be happier.

Great place, friendly staff, make my kids feel very comfortable. My younger one screamed first time we went but Dr. Eddie was great with her and now she is mostly all smiles and doesn’t mind going for her semi-annual cleanings.
